Berlin, 2022

Olivaer Platz combines the history of the eponymous site with the real situation of a Berlin urban space. In prominent proximity to Kurfürstendamm, surrounded by urban square edges with shops, cafés and restaurants, the site has been restored to a spacious, versatile neighbourhood park.
The canopy of existing and newly planted trees forms compact edges and opens up to a free and sunny centre. Seating areas in the shade, a variety of shrub beds, play elements and a water basin at the park café form the interior of the new green space. As a reminiscence of the town of Oliva, of the Kashubian love of small decorations, a graceful wickerwork of a floral quatrefoil is used as a floor covering.
