The Yellow River is regarded as the cradle of Chinese culture. In addition to its historical significance for China's cultural development, the Yellow River National Museum also highlights the scenic aspects of the approximately 5,000 kilometre-long river. The new museum building takes up the curved course of the river and creates a link between nature and civilisation in terms of both urban planning and content. The streamlined building rises harmoniously from the hilly river landscape and becomes an integral part of this environment. The green roof of the building continues the park and leads to vantage points with views of the Yellow River to the north and the city of Zhengzhou to the south.
