In an international competition, the city of Oslo was looking for new ideas on urban cycling. The award-winning entry deals with the extension of a connecting route from the city centre to the Hoevik district. It is proposed to construct a partially weather-protected "fast track" along a four-lane road in order to support the use of the bicycle even in unfavourable weather conditions. In some places, additional equipment such as bicycle stations and showers will be installed, and a special guidance system will accompany the route.
