Open space design
Leipzig, 2017

At the site Heiterblick the technical depots of the Leipziger public transportation services are to be improved and extended. The efficient and compact use of the site is achieved by the layout of the new buildings while the existing buildings are integrated. The existing vegetation is developed as well as shaped with a stronger identity. In the west area (“Campus”) generous lawns with in some parts distinctive old trees dominate. New planting supports this character. The lawn of the Campus area integrates the crossing tracks. A spacious and pleasant overall impression is created.

The peripheral zones of the depot are mainly designed as green belts with shrubs and single groups of trees while at the same time views between in- and outside are established.
