The open space design is inspired by the space’s character - its existing forested topography. This motif is picked up for wooded landscape islands throughout the entire campus. The building composition is embedded in the adjacent scenery and is becoming part of it. The organic landscape edges of the adjacent forest in the north and the water landscape in the south create a gradual transition to the urban areas. They are in contrast with the hard and straight building lines. The open spaces can be distinguished into three groups by function and by means of design - green belt, entrance plaza and inner courtyards. They differ in surface materials, planting character and furniture.
