Gardens, Bavarian State Garden Show Burghausen 2004

Different garden areas are developing around an extensive meadow, formally corresponding to the adjacent residential areas and featuring individual characteristics.

“Gartenkabinette” (garden cabinets) are located at the north-eastern periphery. Clipped Hornbeam hedges are enclosing garden spaces which are opening up towards the park’s meadow. Thematic sequences showcase shrubs from the dry to lush habitats. Leading through the garden, a small gravel path allows the instant experience of the rhythmic sequence; large-sized stone slabs lead into each planting zone.

The adjacent „Cloud Forest” is establishing references to the scenic features of the site in an independent manner. Fog is waving below a light tree canopy, a typical situation in the fluvial topography of the river Salzach.
