The second main site of the decentralised exhibition concept is Europe’s longest castle, marking the ending and apex of an urban axis.
The sequence of different courtyards within the castle became a thematic focal point, their historic context strongly influencing the design.
The open space of the castle’s six courtyards have been completely remodelled and partially complemented. Within historically well documented areas, gardens have been reconstructed or have otherwise been interpreted by means of contemporary landscape architecture. Plants and materials are corresponding to the special historic context.
