The city of Aachen was determined to develop comprehensive design guidelines for the city centre.
Based on this, the manual has been developed a design guideline for the public open space. Surfaces and site furniture were being classified, categorized and assigned to the according urban spaces. For using the design guideline within the municipality a catalogue simplifies everyday decision processes.
