Competition Helsinki Laensisataman Park

The West Harbour Park (Länsisatamanpuisto) is the heart of an extensive city expansion of Helsinki. The site is defined by a urban development concept. For its design a international landscape architecture competition was announced. The design, which was honoured with a purchase, creates a generously sized and continuously to the sea developing open space. It interpreters the typical features of finish landscape. Pine groves and wide meadows are parts of the wide overall concept of the park, artificial skerries and lakes are urban images of familiar nature.
