Dresden, 2018

On a fallow former industrially used site in the district Gruna a new residential area with different construction types is emerging. According to the distinction of urban planning between block-like structure in the southern area and open building in the north there are two characteristic open spaces evolving - courtyard and green.

The system of pathways connects the new quarter with the adjacent old building complexes and develops the building entrances. Thereby the stand of old trees in the edge areas will be retained and integrated into the new design. In the courtyard under light tree canopies seating and playing areas will be located.

Along the residential paths functional equipment like bicycle parking facilities are placed. Garbage disposal sites and parking sites are located alongside an access road to the quarter which complements the public road system.
